The U12 hurlers got their season off to a great start when they travel to Dundalk IT to compete in the south Ulster blitz, winning all four of their matches. Facing teams from Monaghan, Armagh and Down the eight lads that travelled represented their club and county with great pride. Opening the competition against a physically stronger and taller Killeavy side the blues hurling was just a shade better, scoring five goals and edging out a narrow victory. Next up was Castleblaney, again the blues were found to be the stronger side and a second victory followed. In the remaining two matches against Keady and St Patricks the blues amassed a total of ten goals as they constantly put pressure on the opposition forcing them into mistakes whilst the free scoring forwards punished any loose or slack ball with goals.
The next blitz for the U12s will be on 19th February with indoor training in St Marks resuming this Friday at 7pm. New Seasons sees training sessions continue across games
