Saturday morning in St Marks saw Cumann Pheadaír Naofa second annual Hurling Blitz which has built on last year’s success with more children participating this year in one of the biggest Hurling Blitz in the county since last year’s event, also in St Marks.
On a warm sunny morning close to 200 children from thirteen different clubs throughout Louth, Armagh and Down played Hurling with thirteen U8 teams and ten U10 in attendance got to play good competitive and meaningful games, with all the children enjoying themselves in a well ran competition.
Many thanks must be given to the members of the Hurling section that turned out to help set up the pitches, referee the games and coordinate parking and ensure the games ran off smoothly. No underage blitz would be complete without the mothers of our young members who kept the many parents and family members topped up with Tea, Coffee and sandwiches.
