Cumann Pheadair Naofa U12 footballers bounced back after their defeat to neighbours Burren by beating Newry Bosco. Going on recent results it was thought that Bosco would give the young blues a fight for the 2 points but this just didn’t materialise. From the start Shogy McNulty and Jack Cole were dominant in midfield and were able to supply the new look full forward line of Niall Rice & David Ruddy with endless supply of good ball which they turned into scores. Both boys between them scored 4-12, over half the Point tally. If the deadly duo were not scoring they were setting up Tiarnan McGivern, Finnen McCann, Shogy & Jack Cole with the rest of the scores. In defence Jamie Powell had a masterclass marking Bosco’s go to man and he was well assisted by James Sweeney, Caolan Freer, Darragh Austin and Ben Elmore.
Although the score finished 8-23 to 1-6 in favour of the young blues, it was was their style of play that caught the eye. After the first round of games CPN U12s are 2nd with 3 out of 4 wins. Next up is Mayobridge on the 15th May. For anyone who has yet to see this young team, put this date in your diary.
