There is great excitement and anticipation about the forthcoming The Point Does Strictly which takes place in the Canal Court Hotel on Friday 18 March 2016. A host of Down and Armagh stars have been swapping their regular training and work to perfect their fancy footwork in the hope of waltzing their way to victory at The Point Does Strictly.
The dancing team couples have worked tirelessly over the past few weeks in preparation for what promises to be one of the biggest nights in Cumann Pheadair Naofa calendar for 2016. The dancing duos are; Conor Gribben and Kerrie O’Connor, Niall McGovern and Kora Cunningham, Christy Carr and Lauren Woods, Brian Og Murphy and Maeve Conlon, Ian Russell and Tanya Rice, John Daly and Mary Walsh, Sean Gorman and Ciara Morgan, Caolan McLoughin and Rachel Gribben, Darren Rice and Sinead Carty, Declan Doyle and Martina Lynch, Matthew Teague and Noelle Harrison, Mousey O’Hare and Hilary Sloan, Kevin McCullough and Sara-Louise Carr. Speaking ahead of the event, club senior footballer and local teacher Niall McGovern said he was feeling the pressure, “Give me a jersey any day. This is nerve wrecking, but it will be a bit of fun,” he said.
Club PRO, event co-ordinator and co host for the event, Aisling McGivern commended the brave dancers on their commitment to this event. “The dancers and committee are putting in hours of practice and I have no doubt that each and every dancer will do themselves, Cumann Pheadair Naofa C.L.G. and their own neighbouring clubs proud on the night. I can assure you that the audience is in for a wonderful show.”
There are a limited number of tickets, priced at £15, available to purchase from any member of the Social Committee.
