Cumann Pheadair Naofa Health and Wellbeing Officer Katrina Kernan attended the launch of the Healthy Club Project Phase 2 which took place in Croke Park on 20 February. In 2013 – 2015 Cumann Pheadair Naofa were a mentor club, along with St. Finbar’s Cork, in Phase 1 of the inaugural Healthy Club project. During this time the club undertook many projects notably ladies running, mens’ health, walk and talk, first aid courses, healthy eating etc. In this period Katrina also chaired the Healthy Club project in Ulster. The theme of Phase 2 is Health Promotion and this Healthy Club Project will be launched on 8 May which is Lá na gClubanna. St. Dallan’s Primary School in association with the club will be aiming to raise awareness of the launch of the Healthy Club Project at the School GAA Day on 15 April 2016.
A Steering Committee has been established and chaired by Katrina Kernan within the club and they will work to increase and raise awareness of Health Promotion by implementing different projects and programmes, some of which have been identified by Croke Park. We wish Katrina and the committee all the best with this new venture and we as a club strive to promote health and well being within our club and community.
