Cumann Pheadair Naofa Cultural section wiped the board on Saturday 17 October in Burren in the opening round of 2016 Scór na nÓg competition showing that the hours of practice really did pay off. Results:
Ceili Dancing – 1st place
Set Dancing – 1st Place
Instrumental – 1st Place
Solo Singing – 2nd Place
Ballad Group – 2nd Place
Cultural Officer Carmel McGrath said she was very proud of the efforts of all competitors and thanked their individual group mentors and their parents for all the support. All acts who finished in 1st place now progress to the South Down Final on Sunday 8 November in St Marks High School Warrenpoint with the others going through to the back door round on Sunday 25 October in Mayobridge.
